Music is something very personal, so a personal environment is very important to get the best out of your recordings. All wishes can be discussed before any sessions, so everyone can focus their mind on the project. I'm also very happy to help with shaping the right sound, giving each project its unique sound.
The right sound starts with the musician, the instrument and then the recording techniques. I always try to capture the right sound at the source, leaving no suprises for after the mixing sessions. I always let the recorded sounds guide me through the mixing process, and effects will usually be used only when they add to the project.

My name is Sjoerd Scheffer, born in Amsterdam in 1995. I've always been into music, and started playing drums when I was six. When I was around 15 years old, I started playing guitar. I started writing my own songs around that time. At that time I had an effects pedal which I could use to record as well. That's when I started recording my own songs, using the pedal and a drum machine. I realised that I liked the process of recording (and mixing) even more than actually writing the songs.
After I finished high school, I went to the SAE in Rotterdam to broaden my knowledge of audio, and I finished my Audio Engineering course in October 2015. I had already started recording some bands in the meantime, and they've kept coming back to me ever since.
